Critics of the Bible like to claim there is no evidence of a global flood and that Noah’s flood was just a localized event, if it even occurred at all. However, this narrative is not what the evidence actually shows.
The 2300 BC Event is a three volume book series by M.M. Mandelkehr. From his own words, all indications point to him being an evolutionary, non-Christian. However, his work is very fascinating in that from a purely secular perspective, he puts together the pieces and ends out describing the same thing we read in the Bible’s account about the global flood of Noah’s time. Below is the back cover text:
“The 2300 BC Event takes a new look at an old puzzle: what happened at this date to cause the advanced societies on the Earth to simultaneously collapse? Civilizations in Anatolia and Greece, through Egypt and the Middle East, and eastward to India and Central Asia were at their height. The collapse of these civilizations due to earthquakes and climatic changes has been mirrored by similar interruptions on all continents, in the Arctic, and extending into the Pacific. The discontinuities have long puzzled archaeologists and historians. New religions and accompanying mythologies appeared at this time in all cultural regions describing bombardment and flooding from the skies…This book presents a story of a devastation that the Earth experienced at about 2300 BC. If one was inclined to issue dramatic statements, it could be said that the event was the most significant in all of man’s history. All advanced civilizations at that time were terminated, and did not recover for hundreds of years. It could also be said that the course of history might have been changed.”
The date of 2300 BC just so happens to closely parallel the Biblical timeline for the Global Flood of Noah’s day. While he didn’t put two and two together, on page 13 of Volume One, he describes perfectly what was likely the subsequent Towel of Babel dispersion:
“Europe; China and Japan; the Far East, Australia and New Zealand, and the Pacific Ocean; North, Central and South America; and the Arctic region – all have the same reports – destroyed and abandoned sites. disappearance of existing cultures and appearance of new ones, crustal movements and earthquakes, radical climate changes – all dated to about 2300 BC.
Migrations occurred all over the Earth as peoples were either forced to leave unfavorable climatic conditions, travel to more favorable locations, or move away from invading groups. It was a bad time everywhere. Specific migrations have been identified by linguistic analysis at about 2300 BC – (I) the separation of the Indo-European language into regional European languages (Germanic, Celtic, Italic, Greek and Turk); (2) divergence of the four language groups – Tupi, Carib, Panoan and Arawak – in the Amazon rain forest in South America; and (3) the separation of the Proto-Malayo-Polynesian languages into groups throughout Southeast Asia and Oceania.
All ocean regions showed significant flow changes starting at 2300 BC, evidenced by changes in existing organisms, driftwood deposition, and temperature changes.”
There is a treasure trove of additional information presented in these three volumes, let alone elsewhere in the historical record, for those who aren’t willingly blinded by humanistic dogma and are willing to truly examine the evidence.
Even the church can lack critical thinking!
Long ago, I participated in a local church’s Institute of Theological Studies course about Old Testament Foundations. The senior pastor was very accomplished and had been on many archaeological digs in the Middle East. He was fluent in their language, as well. However, he once referenced the Early Bonze IV/Middle Bronze I period (2300-2000 BC) and spoke of some type of major climatic change, where cities collapsed and population was sparse. Even though this aligns with the same 2300 BC global destruction date and the Biblical timeline, he failed to connect the dots and associate it with Noah’s flood! Apparently, despite all of the incredible evidence, there is no way any of it could be a result of Noah’s flood, because everyone knows the global flood was just a…myth?
The visual in this post above shows just a small sampling of the more than 270 similar historical ACCOUNTS from different cultures around the world, which describe a devastating flood.
In addition, all of these separated cultures created very similar pyramidical temples and structures with deities having very similar attributes to each other. This is highly improbable to have developed independently from each other. Take a look at the list below:
Attribute/Role | Greco-Roman | Egyptian | Norse | Hindu | Sumerian | Meso-American |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
God of the Sun | Apollo (Greek) / Sol (Roman) | Ra | Balder | Surya | Utu / Shamash | Huitzilopochtli |
God of War | Ares (Greek) / Mars (Roman) | Montu | Tyr | Kartikeya | Nergal | Huitzilopochtli |
Goddess of Love | Aphrodite (Greek) / Venus (Roman) | Hathor | Freyja | Parvati | Inanna / Ishtar | Xochiquetzal |
God of the Sea | Poseidon (Greek) / Neptune (Roman) | Osiris | Njord | Varuna | Enki / Ea | Tlaloc |
God of the Underworld | Hades (Greek) / Pluto (Roman) | Osiris | Hel | Yama | Nergal | Mictlantecuhtli |
Goddess of Wisdom | Athena (Greek) / Minerva (Roman) | Seshat | Frigg | Saraswati | Nisaba | Ixtlilton |
God of Thunder | Zeus (Greek) / Jupiter (Roman) | Horus | Thor | Indra | Enlil | Tlaloc |
Goddess of Harvest | Demeter (Greek) / Ceres (Roman) | Isis | Freyja | Annapurna | Ninhursag | Chicomecoatl |

Goddess of the Moon | Selene (Greek) / Luna (Roman) | Thoth | Mani | Chandra | Nanna / Sin | Metztli |
So, do you really believe that all of these accounts just coincidentally developed independently from each other, around the same time frame, sharing similar structures, gods and events?
Have you ever wondered why the term “prehistoric” even exists? Around 2300 BC, all written information and evidence of Earth’s history prior to this event just disappeared from the historical record…as if it were wiped away by a global flood!
