Who is Jesus?

Don’t stop with Jesus the Christ of the four Gospels, because He was primarily fulfilling Jewish Messianic prophecy at that point. Only after His resurrection did He reveal the plan of grace for all to Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles and the primary author of the New Testament.

To fulfill prophecy, Jesus Christ will soon return, bodily, as the conquering King of Kings and Lord of Lords to usher in eternity.

These 3 Synoptic Gospels deal with Christ’s humanity:

Matthew focuses on Jesus as King

Mark focuses on Jesus as Servant

Luke focuses on Jesus as the Son of Man (Old Testament prophecy title)

However, the gospel of John focuses on Jesus’ Deity, as the Son of God

Why four different gospels?
If you read the exact same thing four times, wouldn’t it be redundant? If you read the exact same thing four times, wouldn’t it be redundant? If you read the exact same thing four times, wouldn’t it be redundant? If you read the exact same thing four times, wouldn’t it be redundant?

They don’t contradict each other at all. Actually, they each highlight information relevant only to the point that they are individually making. None of them claim to be the exhaustive biography of Jesus Christ.

If something is omitted from one gospel, it is not indicating that it did not happen, only that it is not relevant to the point being made by that particular gospel. In fact, they complement each other to provide us with the full picture.

He is the ONLY person in history who came at the correct prophesied time and place, with the correct lineage, experiencing the required events needed to be the Jewish Messiah/Christ.

God came to this earth that He created and took on human flesh, in order to live the perfect life for us. He allowed Himself to be sacrificed on our behalf. All that we need to do is accept what He did on the cross for each one of us!

THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE OF ALL IS:
Do you believe that only Jesus Christ is your personal savior, in that He was crucified, died, was buried and resurrected for the full forgiveness of your sins: Past, present and future?

If so, CONGRATULATIONS…you’re saved according to the Bible. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) Now continue to grow in your faith.

If not, you may want to take some time to investigate where you’ll spend eternity.

Caution:
There are many “works-based” religions out there telling people that they must not only believe, but also do good works in order to be saved! The entire book of Galatians was written to expose such deceivers and false teachers. God does not need your help in order to forgive your sins! That would be discounting ALL that He did for us on the cross at Calvary, when He said “It is finished!” (John 19:30)

How would you be able to do something that even God Himself could not accomplish for you? The only thing that God wants you to do is unconditionally accept His gift of Grace, while it is still available. There is nothing that you can do to earn a “gift.” Good works will naturally follow your faith and will justify you in the eyes of others (see James 2:24), but justification in the eyes of God is by faith alone!
